Mazes and planned dungeons

The built instanced layouts are mazes, not approved dungeons. Current runs include three shorter maze instances and nine multi-room mazes. Old Watchtower Cellar is the first approved true dungeon project; its server-authoritative run is still in development.

Short maze runs

These three existing instanced runs are maze content, not approved dungeons. Each has three enemies and ends with a boss. The recommended levels are guidance only, so the game does not stop you from entering.

The boss of each short maze run uses heavy attacks, which cannot be parried. Some enemies, such as the Cinder Imp and the Ice Seer, fight from range.

Parties and scaling

You enter from the maze entrance on the map, and every party member must be standing near it. Current maze runs support one to four players. The maze grows harder with the party: each extra member adds 30 percent to enemy health and 12 percent to enemy attack, and a higher average character level adds a little more on top. You cannot enter while dead or on an assignment, or while you are already in another run.

The nine mazes

Each maze is entered from a gate on the overland map and returns you to its home settlement when you leave. All nine use the same seven rooms, in this order of roles: entry, combat, treasure, puzzle, combat, boss and exit. The maze names and recommended levels are:

Rooms, puzzle, boss and exit

  1. Entry. You start here. Walk room to room; the game remembers which rooms you have visited.
  2. Combat rooms. Clear the enemies on the way in. There are two combat rooms.
  3. Treasure room. A side room with the loot of the maze.
  4. Puzzle room. The puzzle room stays locked until the puzzle is solved. Solve it from a room next to it. If you give a wrong answer, the puzzle resets.
  5. Boss room. The boss can only be hit while you stand in the boss room, and only once the puzzle is solved.
  6. Exit room. You can leave only after the boss is down and after you have walked a path of visited rooms to the exit. Finishing sends you back to the settlement.

The nine puzzles

Every puzzle is in room B and resets when you leave the room, when the party is wiped, or after ten idle minutes, in most mazes.

Loot

When an enemy falls, its loot opens first to its owner, then to the owner's party after 2 minutes, then to everyone after 5 minutes. After 10 minutes it is gone. Press F to loot every lootable corpse nearby. Dungeon drops can include useful gear and materials, but the highest-tier equipment stays craftable and tradable, and dungeon-only rewards give no exclusive stat advantage.

Live game directory

The directory preserves the distinction between mazes and approved dungeons. Browse zones, dungeons and mazes.
