Housing and guilds
A home is a protected plot you own outside the starter town. A guild is a group of players with a leader, a shared treasury and optional protected land. This page covers how both work, and what each costs to keep.

Claiming a home
- A home costs 100 gold. You need at least 100 gold to claim one, and each character can own one home.
- Stand within 2.5 steps of the plot you want.
- A plot must be outside the starter town and on walkable ground. It must be at least 3 steps from NPCs, resource nodes, dungeon entrances, portals and other plots.
- A claimed home is protected. Nobody can attack on its plot. See Combat and risk.
Using your home
- Stand next to your home to store items in it or take them out. Stored items do not drop on a PvP death.
- You can invite up to 16 visitors. Visitors can walk into your home. Anyone else who tries is told the home is private.
- You cannot use housing while downed, working an assignment, or riding.
Upkeep and inactivity
- Upkeep is a weekly fee of 20 gold, plus 5 gold for each level of structure you have built.
- You can pay ahead for up to four weeks.
- If upkeep is overdue, you get a week of grace. After that the property is locked for building until you pay. Nothing is deleted.
- A home with no activity from its owner for 120 days is reclaimed. The game warns you 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before. Your belongings are kept for recovery.
Releasing a home
Stand next to your home and confirm the release. You must remove all structures first. Stored items come back to your inventory, and you get 50 gold back, which is half the claim cost.
Apartments and motels
If you do not own a plot, or want a second base in a city, rent a room from a lodging desk. Open the Lodging window (World systems, Lodging) while you are within 60 steps of the lodging in that settlement.
- An apartment is rented in a city. It costs 250 gold for 30 days and you may hold one lease at a time. It has 2,000 item slots of storage, 8 decor slots and room for 8 invited guests.
- A motel room is rented in a town. It costs 25 gold for 24 hours, with 200 storage, no decor (it is furnished already) and 1 guest.
- Renew at any time from the Lodging window; the new term starts when the old one ends. Each rent, renewal, deposit or decor change is safe to retry: a repeated click never charges twice.
- The bed relieves fatigue, about twice as well as a free nap in an apartment and one and a half times in a motel. It uses the same cooldown as a nap. It gives no combat, crafting or offline-production bonus.
- Only you can use the storage. Guests you invite may enter the room.
- If a lease runs out you have a grace period (7 days for an apartment, 24 hours for a motel) to renew. After that the room is freed and everything inside, including placed decor, is held for you under Recoverable belongings in the Lodging window. Nothing is deleted. The 120-day inactivity rule applies to homes, not to rented rooms.
Furniture
Apartments have 8 decor slots. Place any of 11 furniture pieces: bed, table, chair, shelf, cabinet, chest, lamp, banner, rug, desk and wardrobe. Craft them at a workshop with planks, nails, cloth, linen, leather and iron (forestry from level 2 for a chair up to level 40 for a wardrobe, tailoring for rugs and banners), or buy a chair, table, bed, lamp, rug or chest from the Market Broker in Kheldra Town. Merchants buy furniture back for a modest price. Lodging desks on the second map work the same way, and every city and town there has one.
Guilds
- To create a guild, pick a name of 3 to 40 characters. You must not already be in a guild.
- The leader invites members, can remove them, and can hand leadership to another member. Members can leave.
- Guild members cannot attack each other in PvP.
- The guild treasury holds the gold that pays for guild land and halls.
Guild land
- Only the leader can claim guild land, for 250 gold from the treasury.
- Land storage holds 60 units per tier, or 120 per tier in a warehouse zone. Tiers run from 1 to 5, and the leader pays the treasury to upgrade them.
- Guild land costs 30 gold per tier each week, paid by the leader from the treasury.
- The leader decides whether members can withdraw from the land's storage.
- Active guild land is never reclaimed for inactivity. After a guild disbands, its plot and all contents are held for 30 days, then moved to owner-recoverable storage before the plot is released.
Guild halls
- A hall is a building on the guild's protected land. It costs 300 gold from the treasury.
- The hall holds 80 units of shared storage. Up to five officers can be named, and the leader sets who can deposit and withdraw.
- An officer loses the rank when they leave or are removed from the guild.
