Gathering and mining
Gathering is how you collect raw materials from the world. Scavenging nodes, herb spots and ore veins each have their own cooldown, and most need the right tool or enough skill.

Gathering with F
Press F to loot corpses within reach first. If there is nothing to loot, F gathers the nearest resource node in reach.
A character cannot gather and fight at the same time.
Scavenging nodes
Scavenging nodes are fixed spots in the world. The Discarded Workshop Scrap in Kheldra Town gives ore, for example.
- Each node has a cooldown after it is used, and the cooldown differs from node to node. Cooldowns are kept per character, so another player gathering a node does not put it on cooldown for you.
- A node can require a skill level. A gather below that level fails and tells you the level you need.
- Gather XP has an apprenticeship bonus that fades out by Scavenging level 8, so early levels come faster.
Botany
Botany spots are herb sites such as the Town Herbarium and the West Hedgerow. Each spot yields a set number of herbs and then regrows.
The first four botany spots regrow between 3 and 6 minutes after they are picked. Regrowth is tracked per character, except for a few contested herb spots, which still share one timer between all players.
Mining and ore veins
Ore veins are worked with a pickaxe, which wears with use. The sites are named after places such as the Granite Quarry and the North Copper Seam.
- Each vein holds a small stock of ore. When the stock runs out, the vein regrows on a timer of about one hour.
- Each site has its own cooldown between digs. The Granite Quarry, the first site, uses 4 minutes.
- A dig needs room in your bag. A full bag stops the dig, so empty some space first.
Tools wear out
Pickaxes, rods and other tools lose durability as you use them. Repair them at the forge in Kheldra Town. The crafting page explains the repair button and its cost.
